Research in Social Education

Research in Social Education (founded in 2001) is one of the leading book series dedicated to advancing systematic research and scholarship in the field of social education. The series brings together established and emerging voices to explore the purposes, contexts, and consequences of schooling in society, and to critically examine how education shapes civic life and collective understanding. Each volume captures and facilitates the exchange of ideas, methodologies, and findings that deepen our knowledge of how teaching and learning intersect with issues of justice, democracy, and global interdependence. By engaging with questions about how individuals and communities learn to live justly together, past and present, across diverse times and spaces, the series aims to reimagine the role of education in fostering informed, equitable, and engaged societies. The series welcomes both conceptual and empirical contributions and especially values equity-focused research that amplifies global, multicultural, and critical perspectives.
