This series focuses on current and emerging topics related to education in urban communities. Our main goal is to build a rich and meaningful collection of research and scholarship that improves how we understand and advance the theory, practice, and policy of urban education. We are especially interested in books and special issues that highlight what is working well, what shows promise, and what sparks new hope and opportunity in urban education, as well as those that imagine and advance transformative practices, policies, and theories that can shape the future of urban schools and communities. This includes research studies, single-authored books, edited volumes, and themed special issues that provide thoughtful, critical, and forward-looking insights into how urban education is understood, practiced, and reshaped. We welcome innovative approaches, creative solutions, and inspiring efforts that are building stronger, more just, and more hopeful urban educational environments.
