Contemporary Perspectives on Developing Trauma-Informed Teachers

Increased awareness of the profound impact trauma can have on student learning, behavior, and development has made trauma-informed education a critical area of focus. Many educators, however, enter the classroom without the necessary training to recognize or effectively respond to academic and social behaviors related to trauma. This series addresses that gap by equipping teachers with research-based tools to create safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments.

The book series aims to deepen understanding of trauma’s educational implications and foster systemic, sustainable practices for trauma-informed teaching while at the same time providing tools and resources for teachers to learn skills to support their own well-being. The series supports the development of teacher competencies that promote student resilience and well-being, while advocating for equity and culturally responsive pedagogy
