  • About

People’s lives at work and outside of work are constantly connected and switched on, this hyper-connectivity can have adverse effects on wellbeing and mental health, with people unable to switch off from emails, notifications and more.

What happens when people undertake a digital detox? The question is answered through a blend of research-backed insights, personal anecdotes, and practical advice. Chapters probe into the philosophy and practices of digital detox retreats, revealing the profound benefits they offer for mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing. Through the lens of real-life stories from retreat attendees and actionable advice, this book empowers readers to establish a more balanced interaction with technology. Undertaking a digital detox is challenging, and chapters here explore the barriers to people trying to detach from technological overload, while exploring simultaneously the benefits of doing so, even for short periods at a time.

The Advances in Digital Technology and Data-Driven Business Practices series aims to shed light on the rapid developments, significance, benefits, and practical applications of evolving digital technologies and data-driven decision-making practices in businesses.
