  • About

Entrepreneurship now occupies a central position within the modern social sciences, bridging economics, psychology, and history. Once a peripheral subfield of business studies, it has become one of the most rapidly expanding areas of academic inquiry—taught across universities worldwide as the applied and human face of economics. Courses in entrepreneurial behavior, innovation policy, and start-up ecosystems increasingly seek frameworks that connect theory to the psychological and historical realities of enterprise.

Despite its prominence, the field remains fragmented and overly contemporary. Much current research is driven by data from the digital economy, venture capital, or regional policy, leaving a void in historical continuity and psychological interpretation. There is a lack of scholarship connecting ancient and early modern entrepreneurship to the behavioral patterns evident today.

The Mystery and Mastery of Enterprise addresses this gap by providing a cross-disciplinary synthesis of economic history, behavioral psychology, and real-world entrepreneurial practice. Based on primary research spanning twenty-five centuries and fifty case studies of which fifteen are exhaustive, it redefines entrepreneurship as a universal psychological impulse rather than a modern managerial construct.

Robert Ippaso offers an intellectual bridge between cultures and disciplines, appealing to a worldwide audience of academics, practitioners, and readers seeking to understand how the same psychological drivers of creativity and ambition have built—and continue to build—the global economy.
