In recent decades, higher education has seemingly been in a constant state of flux. Indeed, higher education fads and fashions turn. New higher education technologies materialise and alternative higher education approaches emerge. Consider, for example, how globalisation has changed the very nature of higher education. The COVID-19 pandemic revealed and accelerated certain aspects of higher education which were already in play: virtualisation and student employability, for example. Additionally, national and international politics have led to questions about the governance of higher education.
This series, as intimated by its title, aims to explore these and other contemporary issues in higher education. Each volume of this series explores a contemporary issue in higher education, thereby providing both scholars and practitioners with the most current perspectives and practices. The editor welcomes proposals for solo-authored volumes and edited anthologies. He is open to different research traditions, and to different methods. And he is eager to expand the geographic coverage to unique and underrepresented regions.
