This volume brings together scholars from the US, Australia, Israel, and Nigeria, who explore key topics from the past 20 years of the series Research in Ethical Issues in Organizations (REIO), namely the role of organizations in society, the international and multidisciplinary scope of business ethics, and the importance of narrative. Through seven papers and a review, they address the place of organizations in society, particularly the contribution of for-profit corporations, how to prepare current and future business students for ethical dilemmas and individual decision making, and the importance of trust; international and interdisciplinary aspects, including famine in sub-Saharan Africa in relation to the Irish famine and lessons from fox-hunting and Anthony Trollope; the importance of narrative in the field, including a college textbook on moral philosophy (The Moral of the Story), how stories can be used to convey complex ideas like redemption, and the film Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year, a story of business ethics in practice; and the early days of the publication and the contribution of Dr. Clarence Walton.
