Advances in Group Processes publishes theoretical analyses, reviews, and theory-based empirical chapters on group phenomena. The series adopts a broad conception of “group processes.” This includes work on groups ranging from the very small to the very large, and on classic and contemporary topics such as status, power, trust, justice, social influence, identity, decision-making, intergroup relations and social networks. Previous contributors have included scholars from diverse fields including sociology, psychology, political science, economics, business, philosophy, computer science, mathematics and organisational behaviour.

Shane R. Thye is a Professor of Sociology at the University of South Carolina. He works in the general area of social psychology and group processes. He has published articles in the American Sociological Review, the American Journal of Sociology and Social Forces. He has been the lead editor of Advances in Group Processes for the past twenty years.
Joseph M. Quinn is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of South Carolina. He uses experiments, surveys, and computational tools to study how social psychological and cognitive mechanisms combine with network structures to shape social interactions, personal culture, and broader patterns of inequality in society.
Edward J. Lawler is the Martin P. Catherwood Professor of Industrial and Labor Relations and Professor Emeritus of Sociology at Cornell University. He has coauthored dozens of articles, three books and is the founding editor of Advances in Group Processes.
